China reduces production capacities to solve environmental problems

At the end of the spring of 2018 the PRC government detected a number of violations committed by local authorities in the pollution control.

Many enterprises, steel and chemical plants in particular , previously were instructed to reduce production capacities. This appeal was ignored, moreover, new plants were opened.

The industrial season of 2018 for China was marked by a temporary termination of work of large enterprises in many provinces such as Jiangsu, Shandong, Zhejiang, Sichuan, Xinjiang and Tibet. For example, in Jiangsu Province the chemical park including more than 100 enterprises of pharmaceutical, agrochemiscal and coloring substances production is planned to be temporary closed.

Despite the situation, at the moment the petrochemical enterprises keep former export volumes of polymeric production.

For instance, one of the China Resources Packaging plants on production of PET, for the aid to state policy, has reduced loading of capacities on all lines in Jiangsu to 50% for a period of one month. At the same time, CRC plant lines in the Province of Guangdong continue to work at full capacity and this situation significantly hasn't affected neither volumes of the plant in general, nor volumes of external deliveries of PET.

Remember that periodically appearing smog in regions is regular phenomenon for China. This problem has a negative impact on the health of the people and the state of the environment.
